Orchestra of Mobile Phones

The installation used nine mobile phones as individual musical instruments, arranged according to written scores. It was based on Antanas Kučinskas' composition 12 in One Line, adapted for the project by electronic music artist Artūras Bumšteinas.

By combining the sounds of mobile phones, the work produced an unexpected harmony from a familiar communication device. Visitors could listen to the interactive orchestra by sending SMS messages or calling the displayed numbers.
