Audio Landscape Quadricycle

Audio Landscape Quadricycle is an interactive object that links kinetic and acoustic experience. The direction of movement is read through sensors and a computer system, generating sound that is heard through headphones.

The work is conceived as a shared experience for two people. While pedaling and steering with their bodies, they hear abstract generative sound collages that react to movement in real time. Riding the object produces tactile, spatial and acoustic sensations that are intensive, immersive, slightly disorienting and unexpectedly pleasurable.

The work was first shown in 2008 at the Vilnius Academy of Arts MA graduation exhibition at Vartai Gallery, and later the same year in Vilnius Art Scene After 2000 at the Latvian National Museum of Art exhibition hall Arsenals in Riga. In 2021 it was presented in Media: Lithuanian Media Art Retrospective at the National Gallery of Art in Vilnius.
